Expected Release Date

rnPart Two, the last in the Mission: Impossible franchise, was earlier set to be released in 2022. However, the movie faced multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is now set to hit the box office on 28 June 2024. The film, which will be released after a two-year delay, will be the eighth installment in the series and the immediate sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which will be released in 2023.

Spoilers

While the expected storyline has been kept under wraps, eagle-eyed fans have been trying to gather hints from the official teaser trailer for Part One. Considering that Hunt’s final mission is a story being told through two films, the audience can expect higher stakes than ever before, with exhilarating action scenes. Just one example from M:I7 is a motorcycle stunt through a forest, which culminates in Cruise’s character riding himself off a cliff. Even bigger things are anticipated for Part Two, including Hunt holding on for his life, and swinging from an airplane.rn

Expected Movie Plot

rnPart Two is expected to pick up right where Part One is left off, which means that the seventh movie could end in a nail-biting cliffhanger. This being the last movie in the internationally loved franchise, would certainly mean that the mission would be Ethan Hunt’s most challenging one. The return of Kittridge after a long while also indicates something big can be expected. While actual details about the plot remain a mystery, fans believe that in addition to bigger, and more spectacular, action sequences, the story in itself would be one of the best in the franchise. There is a chance that Hunt will face morally grey and complex adversaries, which will lead him to question his own loyalties. There is also a hope among some that more would be at stake emotionally for the beloved character, including his allies’ lives. If so, the movie is sure to be the perfect way to conclude the remarkable story that has been told over the years.

Expected Characters in the Movie

In addition to Tom Cruise returning as Ethan Hunt for the final time, the movie has a stellar cast. Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter in the MCU) will play the mysterious character of Grace. Rebecca Ferguson will also reprise her role as Ilsa Faust, who was last seen in Fallout. Other members of the star-studded cast include Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Shea Whigham, Nick Offerman, and Holt McCallany. Pom Klementieff has also been cast in a role that remains unknown.rnrnIn addition to this, there is also speculation that others such as Jeremy Renner, Angela Bassett, Sean Harris and Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be joining the M: I8 team.
